I.R.T.I. has created breakthrough technology which revolutionizes the creation and delivery of accessible media to the print disabled marketplace. Using our accessible media creation tool – eClipseWriter – it is now possible to create audio books which can easily be sent to readers via the World Wide Web, regardless of the speed of their internet connection – including standard dial up lines. Audio books travel as tiny compressed and encrypted files (called DTB-DNA files) which are easily downloaded by the user.

To make the process of downloading and playing the audio books fast and easy to use I.R.T.I. has created a file "unpack" tool called eClipseWater. "eClipseWater"  allows the reader to download DTB-DNA files and expand them to fully functioning audio talking books automatically, with the press of a few buttons. The audio books can be played on the computer’s hard drive using Windows Media Player or other audio book playback tools (including DAISY players). The audio books also be recorded to CD or flash memory and made completely portable – thus freeing the reader from the need to use a computer to read a book.

In order to demonstrate the value of this technology I.R.T.I. has created a talking document library containing a collection of free talking content which readers can download and enjoy. Since our company was formed in 1979, much of our history has revolved around making technology products usable by the visually impaired by creating audio documentation.  However, in these headset connected times that we live in, we are committed to making this type of information readily available for all those who prefer audio over printed text.

While I.R.T.I.’S tools are both affordable and easy to learn, we realize that many companies and public service organizations want the output our tools can create, but simply don’t have the time or the staff to put them into practice. That’s why we have launched I.R.T.I.-AMPS (Accessible Media Production Services) – a new arm of our 26 year old company that will take your electronic or printed documents and turn them into accessible media for your clients and constituents. If you’d like, we’ll even post and host your content on our web site, so your intended audience can download it with zero impact on your operation.
