eClipseReader on a Win 2000 system that has been upgraded with Microsoft
Windows Service Pack four updates, the installation process may hang on “Updating
System Configuration, Please Wait…” Note: Only exists in systems that have been updated with service pack four prior to installation or re-installation. The problem will be corrected in the next software update. Resolution:Currently the
work-around procedure is as follows: When the
eClipseReader installation processes has halted at the “Updating System
Configuration, Please Wait…” message 1. Press the CONTROL, ALT and DELETE keys
simultaneously 2. Press the “T” key (for the “Task Manager”
button) 3. Hold the CONTROL key down and, at the same
time, repeatedly press the TAB key until you focus on the PROCESSES tab 4. Press the
TAB key once 5. Using the UP arrow and DOWN arrow keys
move to the entry for the process label that begins with GLJ, followed by one
to four characters and ending with .tmp – An indication of the correct entry
is that the CPU column will show a very high utilization (e.g. 90 – 99) 6. Press the ALT key and the “E” key
simultaneously (for the “End Process” button) 7. Press the “Y” key (for the “Yes” button) 8. Hold the ALT key down and, at the same time,
repeatedly press the TAB key until you focus on the “Windows Task Manager” 9. Press the ESC key and finish the eClispReader installation process |
